Hoiberg Named Naismith Semifinalist
Nebraska Men’s Basketball Coach Fred Hoiberg has been named a semifinalist for the Werner Ladder Naismith Men's College Coach of the Year on Friday.
Hoiberg is one of 10 semifinalists for the award, which is presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. He has guided the Huskers to its most successful season in school history, as
Nebraska enters its second-round NCAA match with Vanderbilt with a 27-6 record.
The Huskers have set school marks for wins (27), conference wins (15) and conference road wins (seven), as the Huskers opened the year by winning their first 20 games as part of a 24-game win streak dating back to last season. The Big Ten Coach of the Year by the conference coaches, Hoiberg has guided the Huskers to their highest ranking in school history this season.
The Huskers will take on Vanderbilt Saturday evening at 7:45 p.m. (central) on TNT.
