Northwest Softball Blows Past North Platte, 19-3

(North Platte, NE) - The Northwest softball team downed North Platte on Monday night, 19-3.

The Vikings got an early 2-0 lead at the top of the first courtesy of Abby Dinkelman with a solo home run along with a sac fly RBI from Gracyln Simmons. The Abby Dinkelman home run would be the first of five home runs on the night. Northwest would get a 2-run home run and 3 3-run home run from Becca Dinkelman. Sadie Cemper would have a 2 run home run, and Naleah Baier would also have a home run in the game. 

The Vikings would lead 3-1 after four innings but then would blow the contest wide open with five runs scored in the 5th and 11 more runs in the 6th. 

North Platte would score their runs on three separate solo home runs. 

Northwest (12-2) has now won 10 in a row and will be back in action hosting Aurora on Tuesday, September 16th at the Vets Complex. After Saturday, Northwest will host their home tournament on Saturday, September 20th.
