Man Arrested in Conjunction with the Olson Fire

Offense: DUI

Offender: Heriberto Gonzalez Castillo

Location of Incident: 716 St Paul Rd
Brief Narrative: Officers responded to 716 St Paul Rd; Olson Auction House in reference to a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, officers observed one of the Olson Auction buildings to be on fire. Officers were contacted by a witness who reported that an acquaintance of hers, also on scene, had been involved in a motor vehicle crash in which the vehicle he was driving had left the roadway and crashed into the building. The vehicle caught on fire due to the crash, and subsequently the building caught on fire. Heriberto Gonzalez Castillo was verbally identified and admitted to being the driver of the vehicle. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and observed significant signs of impairment. Heriberto provided a failing PBT sample and was arrested for DUI. An administrative search was conducted and Heriberto was found to not have a valid operator’s license. He was transported to St Francis Medical Center for further testing and then transported to the Hall County Jail where he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine during an administrative search of his belongings. Castillo was arrested for DUI-Alcohol-1st offense, No Operator's License/Non-Waiverable and Possess Controlled Substance.

Location of Incident: 207 N Pine St
Brief Narrative: Nora Medina had a check in with her probation officer. During the visit she tested positive for alcohol. An officer was called and confirmed that Nora had a probation term that an interlock device be installed on her vehicle. Nora did not have an interlock device and submitted to a breath test. The result was above a .02 and she was placed under arrest for Violation of an Interlock Device.

Offender: Madelines Martinez Venero

Location of Incident: 1602 W 2nd St
Brief Narrative: On 10/05/24 at 0049 officers arrived at 1602 W 2nd Street, Super Saver, and made contact with a female, Madelines Martinez, who was attempting to shoplift as she had store items concealed in her purse, this was her 5th offense. Madelines had an active and confirmed Hall County Warrant. She was placed under arrest for Theft by Shoplifting $0-499.00 5th Offense and the Warrant.

Brief Narrative: On 10/5/2024 at approximately 0019 hours, Officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Hwy. 30 and Webb Rd. The driver of the vehicle would flee from Officers. A short time later, dispatch advised that vehicle involved had crashed into a tree. The driver was ultimately located near the scene and identified as a juvenile male. Juvenile male was arrested for Operate a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, Unlawful Use of a Propelled Vehicle, Defective Signal Equipment and No Operators License.

Location of Incident: 319 S Walnut St
Brief Narrative: On 10/04/24 at 2344 officers made contact with a male at 1704 W 3rd Street who reported being held down at his apartment, 319 S Walnut St, 302, and had his phone and cash stolen on 10/03/24. Case is open.

Brief Narrative: Victim reports that they received a 100 dollar bill during a private sale of personal items. This bill was identified as a counterfeit United States 100 dollar bill.

Location of Incident: 1920 W 10th St
Brief Narrative: Officers responded to 1920 W 10th St in reference to criminal mischief. The victim stated when she arrived home, she found items in her home had been broken and a photo stolen. Case is open.

Offender: Omarri Wade, Malachi Richardson & Juwaun Shaw
Date and Time of Incident: 10/6/24 @ 17:27
Location of Incident: 3501 S Locust
Brief Narrative: Lexington Police Department reported a high dollar shoplifting that occurred earlier 10-06-24, where 3 black males stole numerous various electronics. The vehicle used, a black Volkswagen Toas with KS plates R021847, was spotted in Grand Island, NE by the FLOCK camera system. A check of the area located that vehicle. Contact was made with two black males that gave consent to search the vehicle. Officers located numerous high dollar electronics inside. These items were verified as the stolen items during contact with Lexington PD. The two males were identified by Michigan ID cards as Jawuan Shaw and Omarri Wade. During contact Wade admitted to the shoplifting. Shaw refused to speak with officers. Omarri Wade, Malachi Richardson & Juwaun Shaw were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property.
