Dr. Woodruff Named Vice President of Medical Operations of CHI Health Good Samaritan

Kearney-Dr. Lissa Woodruff has accepted the position of vice president of medical operations (VPMO) at CHI Health Good Samaritan starting Oct. 13. A dual-role, Dr. Woodruff will continue to lead the Hospitalist program at Good Samaritan caring for hospitalized patients–a position she began in 2011.

As VPMO, Dr. Woodruff will oversee Quality, Safety and Risk Management, medical staff affairs and a number of clinical departments and functions. As a key senior leader, she will join hospital Administration in fostering growth of services and overall financial stewardship.

“Dr. Woodruff demonstrates strong leadership with a firm focus on quality and patient safety, and a commitment to advancing the culture of Good Samaritan,” says Curt Coleman, president, Good Samaritan.

A native of Stamford, Nebraska, Dr. Woodruff earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska in 1989. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1993, and completed an internal medicine residency at UNMC as well as board certification in 1996. She joined the Good Samaritan medical staff in 1999.

“Dr. Woodruff has been a trusted clinician at Good Samaritan for more than 20 years. Her historical knowledge and strong relationships with medical staff and our community are key in maintaining Good Samaritan’s position as a regional leader in health care and a vital link to trauma care for the region,” says Coleman.
