Work resumes today on US-281, St Libory North & South

March 31, 2025 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work resumes today, March 31, on U.S. Highway 281 (US-281), from reference post 78+36 to reference post 84+50, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Vontz Paving, Inc., of Hastings, is the prime contractor for this project. Work includes permanent pavement marking, joint sealing, rumble strips and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with intermittent lane closures. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is May 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
