District 33 Senator Dan Lonowski presented LB896 before the same committee.  The bill proposes increasing fees for marriage licenses from $25 to $50 to cover the costs of issuance by county clerks. Costs for certified copies issued by counties would be increased from $9 to $16 to mirror the cost of certified copies issued by the state’s Office of Vital Records within the Department of Health and Human Services. One spoke in favor. No one spoke against. The hearing lasted just over five minutes.
