GRAND ISLAND (Neb.) — Grand Island Public Schools (GIPS) invites the community to a special open house honoring the legacy of Seedling Mile Elementary School.
Seedling Mile Elementary has been an educational fixture of the community since 1888, a place where students have learned, grown, and created lasting memories. As the school prepares to wrap up the current academic year, we want to offer everyone an opportunity to walk its halls and celebrate its rich history.
This open house will provide a chance for former students, staff, families, and community members to connect, share stories, and relive the memories made at this close-knit, one unit building. The event will serve as a meaningful tribute to the honored legacy of Seedling Mile Elementary.
“Seedling Mile has a proud tradition of serving the Grand Island community for over 130 years.” Matt Fisher, GIPS Superintendent, said. “Most of the students and staff who have worked or attended classes at this school over those years would say that it has been a great place to learn and grow. We are excited to have this chance to bring people together to celebrate this rich history.”
The Grand Island public is invited to join us for an afternoon strolling the halls, enjoying snacks and stories, and connecting around shared memories.
