Premier Pyrotechnics “Shooter’s School” to Take Place in Grand Island

Grand Island, Neb. — Residents may hear fireworks throughout the day next weekend as a fireworks training event takes place in the community.

Premier Pyrotechnics, Inc. will host a Shooter’s School on Saturday, March 14 at Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island. Registration for the event begins at 9 a.m., with training sessions starting at 10 a.m.

The educational program is designed for individuals and organizations interested in learning how to safely conduct professional fireworks displays. Participants will receive hands-on instruction covering a range of topics including safe hand-firing of shells, wiring and setup of larger displays and overall fireworks safety practices.

Because the course involves live training exercises, fireworks may be discharged periodically throughout the day as part of the instructional demonstrations. A small demonstration display may also take place during the evening as part of the training.

The course is hosted by Premier Pyrotechnics and is open to individuals interested in becoming fireworks shooters or joining a fireworks display team. The cost of attending is $60 per person, which includes lunch and dinner. Participants are encouraged to bring appropriate safety gear if available.

City officials want residents in the surrounding area to be aware that fireworks activity is expected as part of the permitted training event. For additional information about the Shooter’s School or registration, individuals can contact Premier Pyrotechnics at 1-888-647-6863.
