Phi Theta Kappa Inducts New Members

CURTIS, Neb. – The Alpha Iota Tau Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) inducted sixteen new members at the May 7 ceremony with family and friends in attendance to celebrate their honor.
Established in 1918, PTK recognizes the academic achievements of students attending two-year colleges. It provides opportunities for growth and development through honors, leadership, and service.
The current PTK President, Lauren Krager of Littleton, CO, Vice President Makenzie Doris of Dighton, KS, and Secretary/Treasurer Stella Wegner of Gordon, NE, conducted the annual candlelighting installation ceremony. They, along with other members, welcomed the following inductees:

Dr. Eric Reed, Professor of the NCTA General Education Division, serving as the faculty advisor for PTK for over a decade, shares, "Our members are dedicated students who put much effort into classes and extracurricular activities."
Reed related the difficulty of qualifying for membership, congratulating inductees as members of one of American higher education's oldest, largest, and most prestigious honor societies. The NCTA Chapter is involved in campus and community projects in Curtis and assists in hosting an annual career fair.
