Northwest Girls Down Hastings, 49-33


(Hastings, NE) - The Northwest girls' basketball team defeated the Hastings Tigers on Tuesday night, 49-33. It was the Vikings' 10th win of the season after going 2-1 in the Central Conference Tournament last week. 

Northwest would have an 8-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Vikings would open up things up in the second quarter, outscoring the Tigers 15-6 to lead 23-11 at the halftime break.  Northwest would continue to control the game with a 13-6 third quarter. Both teams would score 13 points in the fourth quarter. 

Emerson McIntyre would score double digits for the Vikings for the fourth game in a row with 12 vs the Tigers. McIntyre would have 15 last week vs Lakeview, 11 vs York, and 12 vs Aurora. The Vikings would get 9 points from Emersyn Graves, and 8 points apiece from Libby Loman and Jolie O'Hara. 

Hastings with the loss drops to 2-15 on the season and will be next in action on Saturday, Feb. 7th hosting Elkhorn. Northwest is now 10-8 on the season and will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 6th, hosting Schuyler.
