Memorable Day for Barrientos & GI Home Federal - Two Wins At North Platte

(North Platte, NE) - Broxton Barrientos would not be denied on Wednesday as Grand Island Home Federal would take two games at North Platte winning game one 17-1 and game two 16-7. Barrientos would have a combined seven hits and 11 RBIs in the two games. In each game, he would have a bases-clearing three RBI triple. Grand Island in total would also rip 10 doubles in the two games playing a total of 9 and a half innings with both games ending in run-rule fashion. 

On the hill Grand Island in game one would get four innings from Dyllan Hinrichs giving up one hit, one run, two walks and two strikeouts in the outing. Barrientos would come into the fifth inning and pitch the final three outs of the game. 

In game two, GI would start Grayson Sack. He would have two innings of work giving up four hits, six runs, two walks, and two strikeouts. Home Federal would then turn to Gage Gannon for the next two and two-thirds. Gannon would give up three hits, one run, and have three strikeouts. Zachary Mader would enter in the top of the fifth and have one pitch for the final out on a ground ball to wrap up the win. 

Grand Island is now 13-2 on the season and will be back in action on Sunday, June 16th hosting Scottsbluff at Ryder Park. Game one is set to start at 2:00 pm with game two to follow at 4:30 pm.
