LB807 & 429 Advance at the Legislature.

LB 807 gained first round approval at the Nebraska Legislature. It moves the administration of the Noxious Weed Control Act to the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy and Environment from the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. The bill was introduced by Teresa Ibaugh.

District 37 Senator Stan Clouse of Kearney spoke in favor of the bill. 

District 41 Senator Fred Meyer of St. Paul tried to clarify points for urban lawmakers.

The bill advanced 33-0 

LB 429 also advanced. It seeks to ensure school districts provide equal access to any professional employees' organization if the same access is given to one professional employees' organization.  Senator Dave Murman introduced the bill. 

District 35 senator Dan Quick spoke twice on the measure. 

Quick voted for the bill and it advanced 30-0
