Land Use Meetings Coming in Hastings

The City of Hastings Development Services Department will hold two meetings to discuss the land use section of Hastings City Code and are looking for public input.

The meetings will take place Thursday, Jan. 22 and Wednesday, Jan. 28, both at 4:30 p.m. in meeting room A at Hastings Public Library, 314 N. Denver Ave.

These meetings are the first step for the City of Hastings rewrite of Chapter 54 of the Municipal Code, which addresses zoning.

The meetings will introduce the first draft of the proposed changes. The Development Services Department is asking for the public’s input concerning these changes.

This is important because every other part of zoning builds off the zoning districts and authorized land uses.

The next steps following these meetings will be more public meetings to discuss other sections of city code.
