Kearney Man Wins $60,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5

Brian Iodence of Kearney won $60,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

Iodence purchased his winning ticket at Pump & Pantry #56 at 3004 US Highway 30 in Kearney. The ticket contained a single set of numbers good for 7 days, from January 26, 2026, through February 1. The ticket matched all five winning numbers drawn on February 1 (09, 15, 22, 25, 29).

It’s been about 15 years since Iodence started playing those numbers, a mix of family birthdays, and he’s had some luck with them over the years.

“I hit three a couple of times,” he said. “I hit four once. That fifth one was the hard one.”

Iodence said his son told him to play some new numbers, but he’ll be sticking with the same ones.

“It’s the same odds as any numbers,” he said, “Let’s keep it going.”
