July Traffic Fatality Toll

August 15, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of July 2025, sixteen people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
* These 16 fatalities occurred in 15 fatal crashes.
*Five of the eleven vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, two were using a seatbelt, and four had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
*Eight of the fatalities were in rural locations.
*There were two fatalities on the interstate, six on other highways, and eight on local roads.
*Three of the fatalities were pedestrians.
*Two of the fatalities were motorcyclists.
*Two of the fatalities were driving all-terrain vehicles (ATV).

There were 24 fatalities in July of 2024.
Only 35 of the 94 vehicle occupants killed during 2025 were using seatbelts.
