Berlie was appointed Hall County Sheriff in December 2025 and sworn into office after being selected by the Hall County Board of Commissioners following the retirement of Sheriff Rick Conrad. “I’m proud of the work our office is doing every day, and I believe consistency, integrity, and accountability are essential to serving Hall County well,” Berlie said. “Filing for the next term allows me to continue building on the momentum we have and to keep our focus on protecting our communities while supporting the men and women who serve them.”
Berlie said his goals include growing community engagement, expanding the use of modern technology and equipment, and strengthening partnerships with the Grand Island Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies.
Berlie has received the formal endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #10, representing Hall County Deputies.
“Josh has demonstrated a strong commitment to public safety, responsible leadership, and the well-being of both the community and deputies who serve it,” Dan Niemoth, President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #10, said. “His emphasis on integrity, accountability, and collaboration reflects the core principles that guide effective law enforcement.”
The endorsement expressed confidence that under Berlie’s leadership, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office will continue advancing professionalism, fairness, and respect for the community.
“The support of the deputies I work alongside every day means a lot to me,” Berlie said. “These are the men and women doing the work every day, and their trust is something I take very seriously.”
Berlie’s campaign for the next term centers on ensuring the Hall County Sheriff’s Office remains equipped, connected, and prepared to serve the residents of Hall County.
