The Nebraska women’s basketball team hunts for its fourth consecutive road win when the Huskers close a two-game trip at Indiana on Sunday.

Tip-off between Nebraska (16-5, 7-3 Big Ten) and the Hoosiers (13-7, 5-4 Big Ten) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington is set for 11 a.m. (CT).

Live television coverage will be provided by FS1 with Sloane Martin and former Indiana point guard Nicole Cardano-Hillary on the call.

The Huskers continued their winning ways away from home with a 74-68 victory at Purdue on Thursday night.

Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Year candidate Britt Prince continues to surge in conference play. The 5-11 point guard from Omaha, who was the USBWA National Freshman-of-the-Week (Jan. 21), erupted for her 11 fourth-quarter points on her way to her fifth 20-point performance at Purdue. Prince finished with 23 points against the Boilermakers after scoring Nebraska's final nine points to seal the victory. Over the past eight games, Prince is averaging 16.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.9 steals to help the Huskers to a 6-1 record with their only loss to current No. 8 Ohio State. She ranks fifth among Big Ten freshmen in scoring overall on the season with 13.8 points, while adding 4.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals on the year.

Three-time All-Big Ten center Alexis Markowski put up double-figure points for the eighth straight game with 18 points against the Boilermakers despite battling illness. The 6-3 center from Lincoln is the only Husker to start all 21 games and leads the team in scoring (14.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg).

Markowski has increased her career rebounding total to 1,120 to move into the No. 2 spot on the Husker all-time list, while climbing to No. 11 on the Nebraska career list with 1,675 points.

Sophomore power forward Jessica Petrie has continued to step up her play in place of injured 2024 Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Year Natalie Potts. Over the past five games, Petrie has averaged 10.8 points and 6.8 rebounds while hitting 21-of-34 shots (.617) from the field, including 7-of-14 three-point attempts (.500). Potts, who was lost to a knee injury in the fifth game of the season, was Nebraska's leading scorer (14.4 ppg) and rebounder (7.4 rpg) at the time of her injury.

11th Season at Indiana (239-106); 22nd Season Overall (438-236)

Husker Hot Takes
• Nebraska's five-game Big Ten regular-season win streak (MSU, Jan. 8 - WIS, Jan. 20) was its longest since winning five straight conference games (Jan. 16-Feb. 1, 2018) during the 2017-18 season. The Huskers did win five consecutive games against Big Ten foes in 2021-22 with three wins in the final regular-season conference contests before adding two wins in the Big Ten Tournament. Both the 2018 and 2022 teams advanced to the NCAA Tournament under Coach Amy Williams.

• All five of Nebraska's losses this season have come to NET Top 35 teams, including four true road games - at No. 4 UCLA, at No. 5 USC, at No. 21 Georgia Tech and at No. 32 Creighton - along with the Big Red's first home loss of the year to No. 15 Ohio State.

• Nebraska's three Big Ten losses have to come to the conference's top three teams (AP No. 1 UCLA, No. 4 USC, No. 8 Ohio State) which have a combined league mark of 25-1. Nebraska owns wins over No. 16 Michigan State and Minnesota. Maryland's three league losses have also come to UCLA, USC and Ohio State, while Oregon (6-3) has lost to USC and Ohio State but has not played UCLA. Minnesota, which lost at USC Thursday, faces UCLA Sunday, while Michigan State plays UCLA, USC and Ohio State in its last five games of the season.

• In eight games away from Pinnacle Bank Arena this season, Husker freshman Britt Prince is averaging 17.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.9 steals. All five of her 20-point performances have come on the road, while two of her three career-high eight-rebound efforts have been away from PBA.

• Lisa Leslie Award candidate Alexis Markowski has averaged 17.4 points and 7.7 rebounds over the last seven games for Nebraska, upping her team-best season averages to 14.9 points and 7.8 boards per game. The only Husker to start all 21 games this year, the 6-3 center scored a career-high 28 points in NU's 85-80 win over No. 20 Michigan State (Jan. 8). Markowski owns a school-record 47 career double-doubles, which ranks fourth among active NCAA Division I players. Her most recent double-double came with 14 points and 14 rebounds at Rutgers (Jan. 12).

Huskers Dedicate Season to Injured Teammates

• The Huskers have dedicated their performances the rest of this season to injured teammates Allison Weidner and Natalie Potts, who suffered season-ending knee injuries.

• Nebraska's recent success was made more significant after fourth-year guard Allison Weidner suffered a season-ending right leg injury in practice on Jan. 11. It was Weidner's third season-ending injury. Weidner, a 5-10 guard from Humphrey, Neb., was coming off her best game of the season with 11 points and six assists in Nebraska's 85-80 win over No. 20 Michigan State (Jan. 8), which followed a win over Penn State. Despite the injury occurring just hours before the Huskers traveled to Rutgers, the Big Red responded with its first win in Piscataway since 2018. The Huskers followed up with their first win in Iowa City since 2018 and a 31-point home win over Wisconsin (Jan. 20).

• Sophomore Jessica Petrie has provided the most production in place of Natalie Potts, starting 11 games since the injury to the 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, which occurred in the second quarter against North Alabama (Nov. 19). Petrie ranks third on the team in Big Ten scoring (8.2 ppg) and rebounding (4.6 rpg). The last five games, Petrie is averaging 10.8 points and 6.8 rebounds.

• Freshmen Amiah Hargrove and Petra Bozan also have stepped up to honor Potts. Hargrove has scored in double figures five times in the last 15 games, including her first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in the win at Iowa.

• Bozan has played a major role in support behind Markowski at center while adding flexibility. The 6-5 center is averaging 5.4 points and 3.3 rebounds, including her first Big Ten double-figure scoring effort with 10 points on 4-for-4 shooting in the win over Wisconsin. She also provided significant contributions in Big Ten wins over Minnesota (9 points, 5 rebounds), Penn State (8 points, 6 rebounds) and Rutgers (8 points, 4 rebounds).

• Kendall Moriarty erupted for a career-high 17 points to go with four rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal in the win over Wisconsin. Moriarty, who tied a career best by hitting 3-of-4 three-pointers, had scored just 16 total points in the previous nine games.

• Alberte Rimdal dished out a career-high eight assists in the win over Wisconsin (Jan. 20), before adding 11 points in Thursday's road win at Purdue. Rimdal, a 5-9 guard from Koge, Denmark, owns Nebraska's best assist-to-turnover ratio (2.13) and has 18 assists and just seven turnovers (2.57-to-1) over the last five games while averaging 3.6 assists.

Husker Numbers to Watch

• Markowski (1,120) passed Emily Cady (1,114, 2012-15) at No. 2 on Nebraska's all-time rebounding list with six rebounds against Ohio State (Jan. 26). Janet Smith (1,280, 1979-82) owns the top spot on NU’s career rebound chart.

• Alexis Markowski (47) owns the top spot on Nebraska’s career double-doubles list, seven more than first-team All-Americans Kelsey Griffin (40, 2006-10) and Jordan Hooper (40, 2011-14).

• Markowski (1,675) ranks No. 11 on Nebraska’s all-time scoring list. She needs 25 points to reach 1,700 in her career and 103 points to match Kathy Hagerstrom (1980-83) at No. 10 on the NU all-time scoring list with 1,778 points.

• Callin Hake (494) needs six points to reach 500 in her career.

• Amiah Hargrove (97) needs three points to reach 100 in her career.

• Britt Prince (93) needs seven rebounds to reach 100 in her career.

• Amy Williams (249) will reach 250 career NCAA Division I wins with her next victory.

Scouting the Indiana Hoosiers
• Indiana heads into Sunday's game after an extended rest following a 73-70 road win at Washington on Monday night that snapped a three-game losing streak that included a road loss at Oregon (54-47) and home losses to Illinois and No. 4 USC. Indiana's first conference loss also came at home to No. 1 UCLA (Jan. 4).

• An experienced Hoosier lineup is led by graduate guards Chloe Moore-McNeil (9.6 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.3 spg) and Sydney Parrish (10.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg).

• Juniors Yarden Garzon (14.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.4 spg) and Shay Ciezki (10.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.8 apg) have joined Moore-McNeil in IU's starting five for all 20 games.

• The four Hoosier guards have each hit at least 20 three-pointers on the year, led by Garzon's 55 triples on 40.4 percent (55-136) shooting. All four are also averaging more than 30 minutes per game, although Parrish missed five games with injury earlier this season.

• The Hoosiers spread the floor and share the ball, while junior Karoline Striplin has recently moved into the starting five to produce a stronger presence inside. The Tennessee transfer is averaging 9.3 points and 3.7 rebounds while hitting 58.6 percent from the field and 89.2 percent of her free throws.

• Striplin has replaced another 6-3 junior, Lilly Meister, in the starting lineup. Meister has averaged 9.2 points and 4.6 rebounds while converting on 52.9 percent of her shots from the field.

• Nebraska trails the all-time series in Bloomington, 2-7, and 4-5 in Lincoln. The two teams have never met on a neutral court.

• A total of 16 of 18 meetings in the series have been as Big Ten foes, beginning with a 62-48 Husker win in Lincoln (Jan. 5, 2012). Nebraska won the first four meetings as conference opponents, including a 67-38 win in Bloomington on Jan. 10, 2013 - NU’s fewest points ever allowed to a Big Ten foe in a conference game.

Markowski In NU's 1,600-Point/1,100-Rebound Club

• Alexis Markowski has increased her career totals to 1,675 points and 1,120 rebounds. She is just the second Nebraska player to achieve the combined career milestones of 1,600 points and 1,100 rebounds, joining All-American and 2014 Big Ten Player of the Year Jordan Hooper.

Husker Freshmen Featuring Efficiency

• Britt Prince is the leader of a talented freshman trio for Nebraska. While Prince has earned headlines by starting at point guard and putting up some of the best numbers in history by a Big Red rookie, fellow freshmen Amiah Hargrove and Petra Bozan have been dynamic inside.

• Hargrove produced her first career double-double and fifth double-figure scoring effort of the season with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in a career-high 28 minutes in an overtime win at Iowa (Jan. 16). She hit 3-of-4 shots including 2-of-3 threes and both free throws against the Hawkeyes while adding a career-high two blocks.

In three other games, NU has put four players in double figures with the fifth-highest scorer adding nine points.

• Perhaps the most amazing part of the double-figure scoring performances for the Big Red through 21 games is that all six games have featured a different group of scorers that have ultimately included all 12 players on the active roster at the start of the season.

• In the win over Wisconsin (Jan. 20), five Huskers put up double figures, including Kendall Moriarty-17, Jessica Petrie-15, Britt Prince-14, Alexis Markowski-12 and Petra Bozan-10.
