Grand Island Parks & Recreation Department Announced 2025 Summer Concert Series

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce its 2025 Summer Concert Series, bringing live music to the community on Thursday evenings throughout the summer.

Concerts will be held from 8-9 p.m. at Grace Abbott Park and Buechler Park, offering a variety of musical styles for residents and visitors to enjoy. The concert series will run from June 5 through July 17, with performances alternating between the two parks. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a relaxing evening of music in the park.

2025 Summer Concert Schedule
  *   June 5 – TeZZ
Grace Abbott Park
A group of seasoned performers on vocals, keyboard, saxophone, flute, and percussion. TeZZ will present classics from the American songbook including pop, swing, and jump tunes

  *   June 12 – Mohanna with Red Shoes
Buechler Park
This group offers a broad variety of classic songs, woven with storytelling and humor for an engaging evening of entertainment

 *   June 19 – Jesse Karr Band
Grace Abbott Park
The Jesse Karr Band brings a versatile mix of music designed to entertain audiences of all ages and tastes.

  *   June 26 – Karen Lee
Buechler Park
A gifted vocalist and songwriter, Karen Lee performs original compositions along with a range of covers spanning country to soft rock. She will be joined by longtime friend and drummer John Ross

  *   July 10 – Blue Plate Special
Grace Abbott Park
This group delivers an energetic set rooted in American music traditions, blending R&B, jazz-infused Americana, and rock

  *   July 17 – Swing 21
Buechler Park
A toe-tapping four-piece ensemble featuring saxophone, guitar, bass, and drums. Swing 21 plays upbeat music influenced by 1920s–1940s swing, gypsy jazz, and New Orleans dance styles.
