GIPL Launches Winter Reading Program for All Ages

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Public Library invites community members of all ages to take part in a month-long Winter Reading Program titled Get in the SPIRIT of Reading.

Designed as a condensed version of the library’s popular Summer Reading Program, the winter initiative encourages reading and engagement through a combination of reading goals and fun activity challenges. The program is open to three age groups: Children ages 0–11, Teens ages 12–18 and Adults 18-years-old and older.

The Winter Reading Program runs from Monday, December 22, 2025 through Saturday, January 31, 2026. Participants can track their reading using Beanstack, which is available through the Library’s website or mobile app. In addition to logging reading time, participants can complete optional activity challenges such as baking something or playing a game to earn additional entries into grand prize drawings.

The Grand Island Public Library serves residents of the City of Grand Island and Hall County. Anyone who lives in or owns property within Hall County may apply for a library card at no cost. Library updates, hours and program information are available online at https://www.gilibrary.org as well as on Facebook and Instagram. Library users can also access their accounts, search the catalog and explore digital collections at https://gilibrary.tlcdelivers.com.
