GILT Junior Returns in June

GILT Jr, a part of Grand Island Little Theatre, will host a weeklong event this summer for children who have completed 3 rd -8 th grade. Throughout the week, Monday June 23 to Friday June 27, children will prepare to perform “Twinderella – the Musical” by Charlie Lovett, music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur. The students will also be attending classes and workshops teaching them about other aspects of theatre, such as audition preparation, projection, set work, backstage, character creation, singing, choreography and more.

The team in charge of this camp is made up of certified teachers, paraeducators, or former teachers, as well as former and current theatre students from Grand Island and surrounding areas. The workshop will be held at Grand Island Little Theatre’s home at College Park from 9AM-3:30 PM Monday through Friday. The show will be performed Saturday June 28 at 3PM and 6PM. These performances will be open to the public, with a small cost for admission.

Gilt Jr Coordinators are Leah Borer, Monika Peters and Barry Carlson Students are asked to sign up in advance for the workshop, so supplies can be on hand. Cost is $52 per student, which includes a t shirt. You can sign up on the Grand Island Little Theatre web site.
