GICC Handles Heartland

The Grand Island Central Catholic Boys used a 14-0 run in the first quarter to take command in a 69-33 win over Heartland in the semifinals of the C2-7 Sub District tournament. The Crusaders used a stifling half court defense to force 24 turnovers in the game.
Thomas Birch hit three 3-pointers and scored a game high 21. Thomas Liban scored 10 of his 15 in the first quarter for the Crusaders.
GICC faces Thayer Central Thursday for the sub district title at 7pm. Coverage begins at 6:45 on AM1430 KRGI/105.5 FM.
The Titans handled Wood River 66-49.
