Dr. Burr named Doctor of the Year

GRAND ISLAND–Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician Shane Burr, MD was named CHI Health St. Francis’ 2025 Physician Excellence Award winner on Friday, March 28 — two days before National Doctors’ Day.
In its 18th year, the award recognizes some of St. Francis’ most talented doctors for their excellence of care, dedication to patients and staff and always going “above and beyond.” Nominations for the award are submitted annually by patients, their families and staff.
Appreciation for Dr. Burr was reflected in his nomination, including the following:
-Dr. Burr has a remarkable ability to connect with people on a human level, making them feel heard and cared for.
-He exemplifies the qualities of compassion, kindness and inclusion in his service.
-Dr. Burr is a strong collaborator. He values everyone's contributions to the team and outcomes for our patients and he fosters a spirit of teamwork.
-His faith driven work and quirky sense of humor are qualities that our team really enjoys about Dr. Burr. We always know that he will be honest, ethical and add in a little humor to lighten the situation at just the right time.
-Dr. Burr is an exceptional physician who embodies the values of CommonSpirit Health. He is a true asset to our organization and a deserving candidate for the 2025 Physician Excellence Award.
