Creighton Finishes Fourth in I-AAA All-Sports Trophy Standings

Creighton Bluejays

OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Athletics finished in fourth place in the Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association All-Sports Trophy standings for 2024-25. The recognition was announced on Wednesday, with CU finishing behind only UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine and Providence among the 98 Division I schools that do not sponsor football.

Beginning in 2022-23, only sports recognized by the DI-AAA ADA were included the scoring. Those 21 sports feature baseball, (m/w) basketball, (m/w) cross country, (m/w) golf, (m/w) lacrosse, (m/w) soccer, softball, (m/w) swimming, (m/w) tennis, (m/w) track (indoor and outdoor) and women's volleyball. In previous years, the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy was awarded solely on the basis of the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings.

The DI-AAA ADA All-Sports Trophy is awarded to the institution that has the highest point total in all sports in which at least 25% of the eligible I-AAA membership sponsor the given sport. Additional annual recognition is provided via the awarding of a plaque to those member institutions that finish the highest in the NCAA postseason tournaments in those sports in which at least 25% of the eligible I-AAA membership sponsor the given sport. Creighton teams to land that distinction this year include volleyball, women's basketball, baseball and men's basketball.

Creighton earned points for its team finishes at the NCAA Championships in volleyball (NCAA Quarterfinalists), men's basketball (NCAA Second Round), baseball (Regional Finalists) and women's basketball (NCAA First Round). CU's fourth-place finish in the I-AAA standings trails only the 2012-13 and 2022-23 academic years when the Bluejays were third.

Additionally, CU's No. 95 placing in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings ranked fourth among the nation's 21 Division I Jesuit schools, trailing only Georgetown, Boston College and Loyola Marymount. It marks CU's seventh Top 100 finish all-time in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings, and third in the past four years.
