CNRA Sets New Enplanement Record

Grand Island, NE – Executive Director, Mike Olson, announced at the Hall County Airport Authority’s March 26 board meeting that American Airlines is making way for larger jets to accommodate more passengers beginning July 5, 2025. The upgrade to a CRJ900 jet will allow 10 more passengers per flight. This includes 12 first-class seats and 63 main cabin seats.
Central Nebraska Regional Airport also reported a total of 5,940 enplanements for the month of February making it the largest February on record for the airport. The previous record occurred in February 2019 with 5,835 enplanements.
Hall County Airport Authority Executive Director, Mike Olson, said, “The Central Nebraska Regional Airport Authority is thrilled to announce another record month in February. With our partners, Allegiant Air, adding additional frequencies to Mesa Gateway Airport, and American adding bigger aircraft July 5, 2025, we have a good chance to make 2025 a record year in passenger boardings.”
Allegiant Air added a third flight each week from Grand Island (GRI) to Mesa Gateway (AZA) in December 2024 and recently upped that to four flights a week through April 15, 2025. Allegiant Air also flies twice weekly out of Grand Island to Las Vegas (LAS). American Airlines flies twice daily to Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) allowing Grand Island area residents access to almost anywhere in the world from the Central Nebraska Regional Airport.
