CHI Health-Aetna Joint Media Statement:
CHI Health Partners and Aetna have reached a new agreement that restores in-network access to all CHI Health providers and facilities for Aetna’s commercial members, including First Health, as well as Aetna’s Medicare Advantage members.
The new agreement is effective February 1, 2026. Both parties are working closely to ensure members experience a seamless transition to in-network care. The renewed partnership ensures continued access to high-quality, local care for patients across Nebraska and Iowa.
“We’re glad to have reached a new agreement with Aetna that will provide long-term benefits for the patients and families we serve,” said Julie Goebel, president of CHI Health’s Nebraska and Iowa market. “This has been a challenging time for many and we truly appreciate the understanding our communities have shown. We’re grateful to be able to move forward with an agreement that supports access to the trusted care our patients depend on.”
“CHI Health will once again be a valued partner in our efforts to serve Aetna members in Nebraska and Iowa with access to high-quality, convenient care,” said Sue Hall, Aetna Vice President of Network, Central Region. “We look forward to working together again to meet the health care needs of our shared members.”
