Buffalo County Enforcement Results

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office recently completed a Selective Traffic Enforcement campaign conducted throughout Buffalo County.  The campaign, Put the Phone Away or Pay, was funded through a Mini-Grant from the Nebraska Department of TransportationHighway Safety Office. The activity was conducted from April 7 – April 14, 2025 and deputies accounted for 25.5 hours of coverage.

Sheriff’s deputies had a total of 69 traffic contacts - 9 citations were issued for trafficviolations and 60 warning/defect cards were issued for various infractions. Included inthose contacts were 2 citations for No proof of Insurance, 2 citations for Engaging in Speed Contest and 1 Careless Driving.

The primary objective of the campaign was to decrease distracted drivers in Buffalo County, and thereby reducing serious injuries and fatalities in traffic accidents.
