Aurora Baseball Closes Season at Fort Calhoun

The Aurora baseball team dropped a 10-0 decision to Fort Calhoun in the semis of the C-3 District tourney. The Huskies had their chances early, loading the bases in the first, but failing to score. The Pioneers broke open the game with five runs on no hits in the second.
Four walks, a hit batsmen, a dropped third strike and two wild pitches allowed Fort Calhoun to get the big inning despite putting only one ball in play.
Dane Comer went 2-3 to pace the Huskies. Comer, Jack Spiehs, Briggs Winfrey and Lucas Fry played in their final game for the Huskies. Listen to the post-game interview with Kevin Asher.
Fort Calhoun advances to play Lincoln Lutheran in Friday's district final. The Pioneers are seeking their first ever state tourney trip.
