#24 Creighton Women Roll Georgetown 70-48

Omaha, Neb. -- Getting a combined 56 points from its seven seniors, #24 Creighton Women's Basketball defeated Georgetown 70-48 on Saturday, February 15. The Bluejays honored their senior class of Mallory Brake, Sydney Golladay, Jayme Horan, Lauren Jensen, Brooke Littrell, Morgan Maly and Molly Mogensen after the game.
The win lifted Creighton to 21-4 on the season and 13-1 in BIG EAST action, while Georgetown fell to 11-14 overall and 4-10 in conference action.
A sluggish opening frame saw the Hoyas seize the lead with just under two minutes remaining and held a 13-8 edge until Littrell knocked down a trey in the closing seconds of the quarter.
Down 16-11 (9:44) early in the second, Creighton outscored the Hoyas 20-3 over the next seven minutes to take control of the game at 31-19 (2:19). Maly delivered nine of the Bluejays' first 11 points during the run, while Jensen contributed four.
The Hoyas connected on a pair of trifectas before the break to send the teams to the locker rooms with Creighton leading 31-25.
The Bluejays put the game out of reach in the third, scoring the first nine points and outscoring the Hoysas 26-9 in the frame to push the lead out to 57-34 heading to the fourth.
Maly and Jensen led Creighton with 18 and 17 points respectively, while Georgetown's Kelsey Ransom finished with 20 points and Khadee Hession closed the game with 12 points.
The Bluejays return to action on Wednesday, February 19 against St. John's at D.J. Sokol Arena at 6:00 p.m.
