LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- A 14-point halftime deficit was too much for Creighton to overcome as the Bluejay men's basketball team lost to No. 15 Iowa State, 78-60, on Tuesday afternoon at the GEICO Players Era Men's Championship in Las Vegas.

Creighton fell to 3-3 overall and 0-2 at this week's GEICO Players Era Men's Championship with the loss.

Iowa State (6-0) broke open a tie game with a 10-0 run midway through the first half, getting dunks from Blake Buchanan and Killyan Toure in addition to a three-ball by Joshua Jefferson to take a 25-15 lead. ISU's largest lead of the half came at the break, as Milan Momcilovic buried a three-ball in the final seconds of the half to give the Cyclones a 40-26 lead.

Toure had 10 points for ISU in the first half, while Jasen Green added eight points for the Jays in the first half.

CU started the second half with inspired play for the second day in a row. Green scored the first five points and Josh Dix the next seven to force a ISU timeout with the Cyclone lead trimmed to 46-38 with 15:35 to play, but got no closer.

Green (15), Josh Dix (15), Hudson Greer (11) and Isaac Traudt (10) led Creighton in scoring, while Owen Freeman snared nine boards to lead CU on the glass.

Iowa State was paced by 18 points from Toure, with Jefferson (17), Momcilovic (10) and Blake Buchanan (12) also in double-figures.

The opponent, time, day, site and broadcast coverage for Creighton's final game of the GEICO Players Era Men's Championship will be announced much later tonight.
