
GIPD Inquiry Leads to Assaulting an Officer

(Grand Island, NE) - On Sunday, January 15th at 8:40 am Kelvin Macedo was contacted at E-Titan Vapors as his vehicle was associated with a missing and endangered person. While Kelvin displayed furtive movements inside the vehicle, a GIPD officer attempted to remove Macedo from the vehicle, however, Macedo attempted to flee the scene on foot. While Macedo was being secured, the officer's clothing was damaged. Also, the officer sustained a laceration to an elbow during Macedo's apprehension.
Macedo was determined to have multiple warrants for his arrest. During a search of his vehicle, a glass pipe was found which was believed to be used for smoking Marijuana. Kelvin Macedo was arrested for Obstructing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Assaulting a Police Officer, (2) Criminal Mischief less than $500.00, an Adams County Warrant, and a Clay County Warrant.
