Early Morning Fire in Grand Island Monday


(Grand Island, NE) - Grand Island firefighters with multiple other departments assisted on Monday morning at 520 Midaro with a house fire. The call came in just after 6:00 am. GIFD Division Chief Tim Heimer says the house is a total loss and there were no injuries to report. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is pending further investigation. Mutual aid was provided by Alda, Grand Island Rural, and Doniphan. Heimer praised the mutual aid efforts as trucks had to relay water from the fire hydrants on South Locust Street back to the fire site.
